Cosmic Calendar

Month of November, 2011

November starts off with Venus and Mercury conjoined in Scorpio, the sign the Sun transits this time of year 'til the 3rd week of the month. The planets of love, money, choosing priorities and pursuing pleasures and the planet of networking, communicating, and taking care of the mundane details in our day to day existence, are winding up the part of their close encounter this Fall influenced by Scorpio, while the next phase through most of November will be in Sagittarius. In Scorpio we've been processing through these planets, and the Sun, the need for deep emotional contact, dispelling or confirming fears and suspicions in relationships, attempting to express our more profound perceptions and figuring out shared financial realities and how to distribute resources to greatest effect. This phase ends right around November 2, one of the 4 cross-quarter days that mark halfway between equinox and solstice, important turning points in the yearly round. Venus and Mercury in Sagittarius are willing to take more risks, expanding horizons, wanting freedom to explore, expand and express ourselves in those realms of relationship, finances and conversation. There's more of a need for shared values and philosophies in our alliances, both personal and professional, while the firey Sagittarian quest for meaning fuels emotional and intellectual passions. Meanwhile Jupiter and Pluto are at the tail end of their 2nd of 3, super productive, moving heaven and earth, trine in earth signs that's been supporting real change based on higher values, both culturally and personally, depending on where these planets impact each of us in our personal horoscopes.

Full Moon on the 10th at 19 degrees Taurus coincides closely with the pivot of Neptune to direct motion the day before. Our dreams and visions are in focus as we encounter the pull between the Taurus Moon's dedication to tradition and the Scorpio Sun's push toward much needed, deep and pervasive, change. The luminaries in these signs are most concerned with personal and shared resources, priorities expressed by what we act on and how we spend money. Of course this is an important illuminating moment for the Occupy Wall Street movement that's gone national and global, as the masses awaken more to the reality of a banking system designed to enslave the workers while obscenely profiting the very rich on the backs of working peoples' labor. Elizabeth Warren talks about this quite eloquently: "…..'there is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody.' Warren rejects the concept that it is possible for Americans to become wealthy in isolation.'You built a factory out there? Good for you,' she says. 'But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did.'"( Neptune's imaginative input helps us envision more positive scenarios, continuing to bust old myths that have kept this horrifically unequal system operating. Mars enters Virgo today for the next 6 1/2 months making sure we have the right skills, tools, techniques and information to implement dreams and visions. Mars in Virgo brings precise attention to detail as we forge ahead with more streamlined and efficient ways of getting things done. Of course non-productive criticism is the potential downfall in this passage, stopping us from being effective by succumbing to our own, or somebody else's, critique of our inadequate performance. Don't fall for the lie, just keep on going, committing to compassionate awareness of your situation and the need to remain dedicated to your goals. Constructive criticism should be welcomed, however, as this is a major problem-solving few months where we can create new, more functional, systems, and fine tune and substantially improve existing systems. Health care and daily health routines are highlighted and what action we can take in these areas that make better sense. Wherever Virgo falls in your chart is your area of action geared to fine tune and improve conditions over this busy and function first period.

The 11/11/11 follows the Full Moon as we enter yet another gateway in the grand evolutionary movement of 2011. The tripling of this master number is indeed a powerful energetic event. 11 is a master number, as are all doubled numerals, and represents the teacher and the teaching, enlightenment, higher consciousness. This is another opportunity for humankind to release the old paradigm of duality, which breeds brutality, control, separatist thinking and has lead us to this very precarious place in present time. We can choose to embrace unity consciousness with more commitment to moving forward, or we can give up and allow the self-created forces of ignorance and destruction to prevail. It's a choice for each individual to make, and the more people who choose unity the more powerful this transition will be over the coming months. Also this is the day the 13 Mayan Elders and Priests complete their journey across the continent with the 13 Crystal Skulls, doing ceremonies to reawaken the spirit of the land in many scared sites across Turtle Island (North America). This was prophesied from the very distant past, the coming together of the 13 Crystal Skulls, as a sign of great healing on our planet. Massive Sun spots have been forming these past weeks creating solar flares that will especially affect us around this time. The Sun has been turning so that the area of the flares faces Earth today.

Mercury pivots to retrograde motion on the 23rd at 20 degrees Sagittarius until December 13, keeping the Trickster planet in the mutable fire sign into January of 2012. While our mental and communicative style will be more hopeful, straightforward and optimistic we can also skip over important details and/or overstate our opinions during this phase. It will be a major opportunity to review our beliefs, assumptions and philosophical foundations to see if we still resonate with those ideas that have been so important to us in the past. Then late the next day (10:10 pm PST), Thanksgiving, the New Moon brings Sun and Moon together in a Solar Eclipse at 3 degrees Sagittarius, emphasizing even more the mutable fire sign's search for meaning and truth. Sun and Moon cross the degree of the October 28 Moon's degree at noon PDT, one of the significant dates in the Mayan Calendar's culmination, helping us with another layer of release from the old paradigm beliefs that can be intensely entrenched within our psyches. The lunation also squares Mars in Virgo challenging us to use extra care and responsibility in our mental/emotional/spiritual housecleaning. Sun, Moon, North Node, Mercury and Venus all in the same sign work in harmony to point us in the right direction for a better future, along with attuning us to the abundance of blessings in our lives on this day of supreme gratitude. Venus near the Galactic Center sextiles Neptune greatly expanding the possibility for many more to embrace unconditional love, social justice and forgiveness as important new paradigm values.
